That's sad to hear, are raids common? As I'm in Beijing, there is Maggie's and I've been a couple of times, what are the chances of a raid? I hope everyone stays safe.

@SSF: More common in the last year. I recall this year it happened a few times before. I haven't heard about Beijing.
Did they just test the girls and leave the customers alone? Any risk of being followed if you leave with a girl? I take foreign guest and really do not want problems.

@SeanClark: I wasn't there so I can't be sure. I have only heard. But in general, China and police are very tough on drugs. I have read a recent news story on Reuters about a lot of foreign teachers being arrested and deported as soon as they tested positive for drugs. This included hair tests, which will test positive if you used cannabis in the last 90 days. So if you are a drugs user, I would be careful regardless.

Thanks, good point. I will advise my guest of the risk of being tested and the consequences of failing. Better the do not visit either bar.
